Chick-fil-A Field Trip

A few weeks ago some friends and I headed to Chick-fil-A home office for a field trip. What a neat experience!

Of course, the cow was there. . .

He has to be pushing for eating more chicken

A model of what the first drawf house looked like. The prices of the menu were even overhead. One cool thing is there are only about 6 people still living that were regulars in the first dwarf house. Truett Cathy honors the original prices for these people. . . for example a cup of coffee was only 0.05. Isn't that cool?

The safe where the recipe for the chicken sandwich lies. . . Alec, of course, thought he could crack the code :)

You know if Alec was trying then Ash was going to have to give it a go herself.

Hanna tried to, but she basically put her hand on the safe. She was so quick I didn't have time to snap a picture.

We got to go into Truett Cathy's office. He calls it his treehouse. The outside is surrounded by trees.

We also got to tour his car collection. . . wow!wee! is all i can say.

He even owns the bat mobile. The boys were infatuated!!!!!!

A couple of things they stressed to us was that Mr. Cathy is 1) a giver, 2) invests in other people's lives, 3) is a hardworker, 4) loves to have fun. When going through the corporate offices there was even a set of bowling pins and a bowling ball in the hall. . . very cool!

We then headed to Chick-fil-A and got a complimentary sandwich and drink and bag of chips for going on the field trip.

Boy, do we know how to P-A-R-T-Y!!!

September is a big month for birthdays around our house. My Dad, Melissa, Hanna, and Ash all occupy the month of September.

Good excuse for a get together.

This year we combined the girls' birthday party. They got to pick 2 friends a piece to spend the night with them.

Mom, of course, made their birthday cakes.

Hanna's face cracks me up. She must be surprised that Ash can blow out so many candles!

Both girls wanted soccer cakes. . . so Mom made them a cake a piece. She's the BEST!

Next, time for presents.

Y'all know what else happens on Saturdays? College football!

Kara Jane gave Hanna a necklace that said "Best Friends". She has one part of it, Hanna has the other. . . so sweet!

Maddie gave the same thing to Ash!

Later, we headed outside to tie dye aprons. MaeMae got to tie dye an old shirt of Jon's. She was so excited she got to hang out with the big kids.

How does a very unorganized person keep things from going chaotic with permanent tie dye ink? We'd all just take turns and say "pass the bottle". It actually went pretty smoothly considering I had 7 girls around the table.

Next, it was time for "make your own pizza"

The cool thing about this slumber party. . . Hanna's 2 friends and Ash's 2 friends were sisters. It's really neat! These girls are all so.very.sweet.

By the end of the night Skyler became a snaggle tooth. I pulled a loose tooth for her.. . . too funny!

I learned that polyester does not dye as well as cotton. Our aprons didn't turn out quite as bright as I had hoped. . .but the girls loved it, and that's what counts!

It was so much fun. I ended up not going to bed until 12:30 that night, and then got up extra early because I knew I would have 7 heads (including my own) of hair to fix! I also had to teach Sunday School that morning. I ran purely on adrenaline (which just gives me such a rush). It was so fun! I can't wait until we do another slumber party. . . .the sound of little girls giggling is one of my favorite sounds in the world.

Speaking of sweet girls. . . my niece, Noelle, had been calling my Mom wanting Mama to help her plan a surprise party for my sister.

Although Melissa knew about the surprise, she was a great faker. . . maybe cause she has a Ph.D in "fake" (her words folks, not mine:))

This year I wished Melissa a happy 31st birthday. She's not 31, she's 32. I think I was hoping if I made her 31 this year, then come Jan. on my birthday I could just turn 33 again and not 34. . . wishful thinking, huh?

Mama had GREAT party games planned. . . like pin the tail on the donkey. There is a good joke here folks for this picture, but I'm just going to keep it to myself.

And, what party isn't complete without a pinata?

All the kids went head first for the candy!

What a fun day! I'm so blessed to be apart of such an amazing family! Sometimes we're all mad as spit at one another. Sometimes we all laugh so hard our bellies hurt! Sometimes we all cry for one another. . . but one thing is ALWAYS for sure. . . we love each other like crazy . . . and. . . there is NEVER, EVER a dull moment!
