Las Vegas or Better Known as Sodom and Gomorrah

It was over a year ago since we had to go to S&G, but I loaded the pictures on here.  So I'm sure my words will be few because I forget so easy.

I do remember I flew out to meet Jon by myself.  He was going to be gone for 8 days, and we didn't feel I needed to be away from the children that long. . . so I flew out after he'd been there for a few days.

I remember how beautiful the scenery was from the sky.

This was outside of our hotel. . . little shops for browsing.  I would spend a good bit of time here while Jon was in class.  I felt totally safe, and after seeing the Las Vegas Strip I was so thankful we were not in a hotel there.

Here is a view on one of my runs one morning.

I actually needed a few things from Target and decided to run there rather than ride there.  Being a southern girl and being that the only mountains I'd ever seen were ones with trees, it was really neat to see mountains of rock.  I prefer our trees better, but the rocky mountains were neat.

I think the name of this place was "The Elephant Room" . .  .maybe??? I know it had something elephant in it.  It was a Thai place and very yummy to our tummies.

This was outside of our hotel.  Jon and I would eat lunch together everyday.  This was one of those days. He'd then go back to class until about 6:00 or so.

We did head to the strip. . . wanted to see what all the buzz was about.  This was inside the Bellagio.  It was a beautiful hotel if you take away the casino and the half-naked women walking around in it.

Here's the Venetician.

I wanted so badly to go on one of these gondola rides.  Jon said, "No.  That was cheesy."  It actually hurt my feelings.  I think he knew this and offered to take me on one a little bit later.  By that time I had changed my mind and decided I didn't want to do it anymore. . . just like a woman, aren't I?

Lights of the strip.

Now I could have sat all night in front of these fountains.  They were synchronized to music. . . If I remember correctly, Andrea Bocelli.  Although I hate Las Vegas and I told Jon I never, ever, never wanted to return. . . I really did like the fountains outside the Bellagio alot!

While there I developed some sort of skin rash.  Because of my despise of "Sin City" I told Jon I was allergic to everything there.

I did buy me a cute pool hate to take with me.  I would go out by the pool during the day and read.

These beds were outside the pool.  One day after Jon and I had lunch I went out there to read and fell asleep.  It was wonderful.

View of the pool.

View of our hotel

Here's a little coffee shop I sat outside of to read and study.  It was really a great time.  I never knew sitting around by myself reading could be so much fun.

Jon's work put us in a really nice hotel.  It just happened to be the one the conference was at.  I don't think we could ever afford or want to afford a hotel like this to stay in.  It was nice though, especially since it was someone else's dollar :)

I loved walking to Whole Foods and getting their California Rolls.

Ever see "Pawn Stars" on The History Channel.  We did go to the pawn shop.  We watch this a lot sa a family and we knew the kids would like the fact that we got to visit there.

Old Man is my favorite one.  i was really hoping he'd be there so I could snag a picture with him.  Unfortunately, none of them were there.  They were in New York for a book some or the other. . . I forget.

My very favorite thing we did while in Nevada was our last day.  Jon was unstressed because he had no loads of information to take in and be stressed over. We went to "Red Rock Canyon" and went hiking and driving around.  It was absolutely beautiful!

See me? Way up there???? Very cool!

I remember being so excited to see a cactus in its natural habitat!!

Since we were catching the red eye flight out, we had a few more hours left in our day.  Jon's dream is to one day own a hotel, so we went back to the strip and looked around at teh different hotels.  Here is Jon in "Paris, Paris."

I loved seeing this on the strip.  Jon and actually listened as they shared the Gospel.  It was so very good.  I just felt such comfort in knowing these people were sharing Christ.  I know how difficult it was to be there and how much I just hated it.  These people need Jesus too. . . just as much as I do.

Here we are on the plane ride home. . . totally exhausted!! These two early birds are not night owls, and it was 11:30ish.  The plane ride home was the worst turbulence I've ever experienced.  Jon and I were wide eyed and just looked around to see if anyone else was panicky.  Nope. . . they all were asleep or passed out one. . . not sure.  I'm thankful we made it home safely.

When we arrived home we came home to flowers having been planted.  Gigi and G-daddy has been working in our yard. They are always so sweet and so thoughtful!

We also had sweet "Welcome Home" signs with sweet kiddos.
