Cloudland Canyon - Walk in Style

Sometime in October last year. . . on a wim. . yes a definite, last-minute whim. . . we decided to go camping.  Trees in the fall in the south have beauty that will take your breath away.  Becuase of this, all campsites were full. . . except. . . one at Cloudland Canyon that you had to walk-in too.

Thankfully we got there early and got to choose our site (which we chose near the parking lot- so as to not have to walk in so far).

It was so last minute, but the Brisendines and Hendrixes were able to join us.  It was such a fun, fun time.

Ash loved cooking scrambled eggs over the campfire.


Our sleeping bags were extra warm.  I just love the cold then cuddling up to warmth.

We hiked around 14 miles.  Loved every minute of it.  Here I think I was getting eaten by mosquitos.  Alec gave me this thing to wrap around me :)

We were all about some campfire meals.  The funny thing is we had so many planned and our first night there we grabbed Pizza Hut and brought it back to the campground. . . talk about roughin' it!

We also had lots and lots of laughs from our campfire coffee!




Jenn and her crew arrived late and Lisa and her gang were supposed to come but didn't make it.  Insert sad face here.  Jenn's crew arrived late at night.  The next morning we were geared to go hiking some more.
